Is Usyk really good, is Joshua mediocre, did Joshua's camp have the wrong gameplan, or was Usyk just a bad style matchup for Joshua?
Usyk is really good and AJ`s camp had no answers to his active guard, his head movement was very good he slipped 98% of AJ`s jabs, good stuff.
Usyk is really good. But aj also sucks massively and is as one dimensional as wilder. Usyk would not win against wilder or fury. fury and wilder booth operate on a completely different level. They are booth the best hw that existed to to day but no one really noticed that because, that ***** aj never managed to face either of the 2.
Usyk is a bad match up for anybody (and not only now, historically as well). I think AJ's gameplan was right. He wasn't going to KO Usyk with extra 10 pounds on him and more aggressive approach. But he would tire earlier and Usyk woul likely stop him in that case.
Usyk was simply the better fighter, if AJ sucked he wouldn't have been holding most of the heavyweight belts. Stop downplaying Joshua people, Usyk deserves credit for this.
The biggest turn off I have for AJ is his inability to adjust in a fight if Plan A doesn't work and when he gets hit. This will always seperate him from the previous greats
The extra weight was a great move by Usyk, he was still fast, still had a great gas tank, and was stronger than ever. AJ just didn't have what it took to beat him. He looked nervous and a little flat. Usyk completely neutralized his power. I would favor Usyk in the rematch but I don't see it as a foregone conclusion. If AJ can make the right adjustments and his mindset it right anything could happen. I'm just glad this great fight happened!
Usyk was just the better man. Showed him too many different looks, angles and feinted him out of his boots. Mid fight I noticed Joshua trying to time Usyk head movement coming in for a right uppercut but being the smart ring technician he is picked up on it and started slipping to his right away from it. Joshua didn’t really know what to do after that and his corner didn’t give him any technical advice on what to do.
Usyk really is that good. Not only is AJ good, he fought a great fight and came in great shape. I'm not saying this was his best-ever performance, but he fully prepared himself (great gas tank tonight) and fought through all adversity in the bout. He laid it all out there. Usyk was just better. One thing about AJ -- he'll take the rematch straight away and not hide. Gotta respect that.
