What happened to Alfonso Gomez?

He beat Soto-Karass pretty badly before Soto-Karass gave Jones hell. I could see him matching up well against Jones. The guy is trouble for anyone in the top 7-15 range at WW, he always comes to fight. One of my favorite fringe contenders, great attitude and work ethic.

 

Agreed. He has some of the best combos in boxing and has fairly good defense but just doesn't have the power or athleticism to make the elite ranks. I can see him beating the crap out of Chavez Jr frankly so its probably a good thing for Chavez that the bout was cancelled. He also has one of the best staredowns as well.

 

There have been Rumors/Rumblings for the past 6 months about Gomez. Fight with Chavez Jr. was so-called "signed and sealed" a few months ago. Then there was the rumor about Gomez vs Carlos Abregu (the guy Bradley fought). Then there was fights vs Berto or Cintron then the Luis Collazo rumor, Steve Forbes, Shawn Porter....But while all these rumors were going on just about every Boxing Website, It was Gomez himself said he wanted Kell Brook in London or Paulie Malignaggi.

Lets see what Happens.
