My guess is he had a concussion and the doctor explained in very real medical language the nature of a concussion. It is in it's own right a form of brain damage. And Dirrel, who is OBVIOUSLY not the brightest bulb in the box, took what Shaw Hi was telling him and spun it in his own primitive way. As for his future in the sport...... Seems he was signed by TMT(Curtis Jackson) and he was actually signed to a few fights, only one of which that I know of came off. He could still be a forced at 168-175 but he's sliding down the ladder fast with his lack of credible activity.:rofl
If he hasn't been fighting for no other reason than choice, it's a shame. He threw away millions. He could've given his family a better lifestyle.
If he doesn't have the passion, There's not much you can do.. Boxing's a sport that you can't take short-cuts and if your hearts not in training then there's not much point fighting. It's sad but he's made a living! Ward vs Dirrell would have been a good fight
Hope we will see Dirrell back in the ring soon. Seems he will join forces with Chris Byrd as his trainer: http://www.mlive.com/sports/flint/index.ssf/2013/08/flints_olympic_boxing_medalist.html
