The David Diaz IMO answered a lot of questions on whether he can carry his power at 135. Therefore, I think he has a good chance of winning against Juan Diaz also.

it's right in principle but do you know how rare it is for a fighter of pacman's stature to be able to carry that sort of power?

that's the big thing in this argument but it's a difficult one to find in reality.

oscar had fabulous power in the lower weights and that was the momentum for his whole career, but if he had of carried that up all the way to light-middle then the record books may well have smiled on him kinder than they actually will.

He would lose eventually, that's a given.

But in losing to good pressure fighters, he would succumb like Cotto. There is no way for him to outbox, let say, Hatton, becasue it is not his nature. It is not his bread and butter. Like Morales, if challenged, his machismo takes over. And that would be his downfall against someone who can take his power and give it back to him. He would be helpless firing those shots even at his own will knowing there is no effect on his opponent.

YOu're correct it would be special if he indeed packs the same power to the Jr. WW division. For me, at 135 he is fully maxed.

jmm was weary of pac's power, after getting floored in the 3rd. that was the most marquez been hurt in his career. he was glassy eyed walking back to his corner and was on the verge of getting put down again towards the closing seconds of that round. i think it was the 8th round, his best round, where marquez hurt pac with a body shot. if he pressed more he could have scored a KD, but he probably did'nt want to risk another KD, by giving pac a clean opening.

the main thing in this thread is pac is overrated, i mean he looks like a god right now cause the lower divisions arent that good right now, he looks good cause he ko'ed great mexican warriors that were way past there prime and david diaz is a c fighter at best.

    yes..

calzaghe is p4p1 because he beat prime hopkins

margarito is better than pacquiao because he beat one solid atg named miguel cotto

joan guzman is a proven fighter and he can school all mu****as at 135lbs.

marco antonio barrera is already past his best when pac beat him

    hamed will knock out pacquiao...

    is that your point?:huh

Honestly, I don't like the idea of pac moving to 140 this early at 147 to fight hoya. Pac should stay at 135 and wait for the time that his body outgrow the division. As mentioned earlier, there are lots of fighters at 135 who can give him problems right now but the problem is that they are scheduled to fight each other - guzman vs campbell, JMM vs casa, diaz vs katsidis. There's Valero who's willing to move up to 135 and there's Humberto Soto who may present a match up problem. Pac is becoming greedy despite the millions that he just earned, hope he realises that fighting beyond 135 might do him more damage despite the moolahs that he will earn.
