I know Yeleussionov was shortly signed by Matchroom after his Olympic success, but he has gone missing since 2021.

Anyone know what’s happened to him or if he’s retired from the game?

Daniyar Yeleussinov rips Matchroom contract offer, considering retirement if he can’t land big fight by end of 2022

Looks like Hearn tried to screw him and he got tired of boxing.

"I would have stayed with Matchroom but their offer included slave-like conditions. It was worthless. I had to commit to just $100,000 for each fight, even if this was against some of the biggest names in the division; Conor Benn, Vergil Ortiz, or Errol Spence. These fights should earn me six or seven times that amount! And I had no right to increase my fee at all."

Reading that article it doesn't sound like he ever dreamed or aspired to be a professional world champ. Olympic gold was his goal and he achieved it. The contract terms sound grossly unfair but nearly all eastern european pro fighters have to work uphill in order to reach the other side. He talks about fighting Spence and Crawford, who has he beaten in the pro ranks to get a fight of that magnitude? It's a shame and he's a terrific talent but sitting around waiting for a call won't get it done. I'm not sure it's all everybody elses fault in his case. I remember him bad mouthing GGG after only a handful of pro fights.
