he wasn't the greatest but always in good fights and went for it every fight and he needed to be active
People say he lost his desire to train hard with wolfe but Im not sure many people actually know much about her 'training methods'. He didnt lose his hunger to train hard he stopped wanting to be disrespected and treated subhuman. His biggest mistake was just not getting a legitimate trainer and team. He is one of my favorites but had one of the worst IQs in boxing both in and out of the ring, with a very shaky chin... those were always going to keep him from the top tier in boxing. Very exciting fighter though... and at his best in his prime would give many many fighters hell.
Him getting K.O'd by ishida was the funniest thing ever. They did not even bother bringing a japanese translator because nobody gave him even 1% chance to win. Oscar was a genius putting him in with canelo. If I recall it was exactly 1 week after mayweather - pac, which casuals hated and everyone was saying boxing is truly dead now. Then you have canelo with his spectacular K.O over kirkland and all of the sudden boxing is back.
You know what fight would have been absolutely savage at the time? James Kirkland vs Omar Henry Damn. Kirkland vs Victor Ortiz at 154 would have been fun as well. Multiple knockdowns and a terrific finish either way im sure.
Kirkland vs Khan. Full riot gear and face shields available at a discount for all VIP guests and ringside credentialed journalists at a discounted rate for the first 10 rows. Multiple glass shards are expected to travel at speeds up to 140 MPH
Exactly, he was poorly trained and managed throughout his career. I know his legal problems led to some of his inactivity, but there were a lot of fights out there for him. Kirkland left a lot of money on the table.
Lemiuex would land first. The end............. LOL Kirkland was like a supernova, training methods and bad outside the ring habits destroyed him..... He now resides in Bolivian
lol if liam Smith could have won a title kirkland could have 100% kirkland beats that joke smith and his opponents
