Looked a lot more agile here... Has he had a long lay off or injury?

He looked like the Joe Joyce that doesn't fear his opponent's power who carelessly walks through and stops them early. Same old, same old. Why is it that everyone loves trotting that "fights to the level of his opponents" trope when it's convenient. But when it's more than obvious that's the case with Joe, they toss it out of the window, because scoring hater points is far more meaningful for them?

That would be his biggest test to date for sure, bigger than Dubois. Fwank might not fancy it though. Wallin, Hunter, safer bets.

Hope joyce gets a nice cash out fight for him soon. He hasnt got the time on his hands for those hammers of the world anymore. I understand they wanted parker who bitched out and wanted to stay active.. But this fights do nothing for him but just add to his wear and tear. Its gotta happen for him now

You think it was nothing more than Joyce conservation of energy and skill, ie: first gear and not anything off or wrong with Joyce?

I'm not trying to score "hater points" but he seemed a little sluggish even for first gear in that first round before stepping on the gas a little in the following rounds.

He'll never be as physically good as he was against Dubois. He's passed his peak now.

He obviously didnt respect Hammer. That's all.
He had good reasons not to respect him (in the ring, I mean, not as a person, obviously). The gap is huge between them. Nevertheless I dont consider it a very smart thing to do,specially in the first part of a fight.

He didn't even pull the choke out on his cold engine tonight and still overwhelmed in more ways than one.

Caveman Froch taught me a very valuable lesson. When a guy wins... there is a reason why, even if I cant see it. Froch had things I couldnt see that made him win. Same goes with joyce.

You dont consistently win by chance, if joyce is there then the guy has boxing assets. Which ones? well, I'm not going to deny that they are really hard to find. But, man, they are there, we cant deny reality.

EDIT: still, I dont think those "hidden" assets are enough to win to elite fighters. I think all elite fighters will beat the crap out of him. But well... we will see. But he has enough to be there, at the gates.
