What happened to joe mesi?

He got a blood clot in his brain from a blow he received late in his fight with a young Monte Barrett. He got medically suspended soon after the results of the brain scan became public and his career was pretty much over. He had some skills and was a real warrior in the ring but his body proved too fragile for pro-boxing at its highest level.

there was a hillarious campaign ad against him which kept replaying him of getting KD, cant find it on youtube though

 

State congress even. Lost very close, IIRC. I wouldn't be shocked if he comes back into the ring now that it's over.

 

Mesi also took a beating from Jirov which could have been the beginning of the end for him. Anyone know what became of Jirov?

 

Didnt he get cleared to fight again and have one comeback fight?
After reading the wikipedia it appears he has had several fights since getting hematoma'd. Anyone else think that might be a bad idea?

Mesi got brain damage from his 04 fight with Jirov:-(, that pretty much shut down his career..
He also ran for congress last year as a democrat and lost..
I am curious to know what happened to jirov??

 

I hope he stays retired. He's been fighting bums since Jirov and was just wasting his time and padding a record. He will get seriously hurt fighting a top 10 heavyweight.
