Undefeated, got some gifts of course. But he had knocked out his last 3 opponents in the first round and then he just stopped, retired by the looks of it.... :huh

    WTF happened to this guy?

Jirov gave him a brain bleed. I think he's still trying to get his license back. And he's a commentator for someone can't remember who.

He had some serious brain injury or something and couldn't get licensed.

I believe he commentates for versus and I do not know what happened he lost his liscence after jirov but had atleast 5 fights in a comeback and was finally getting back into shape. My guess is that he is finished he did try a political career.

there's been a few of these threads lately. he did get hurt but he also fought after that. he looked good in the few fights he did have but decided to jump into politics (without much success tho).

there' s actually a vid on here of one of his last fights and he looked pretty damn good. i don't think he gets credit for being a solid hw. no, he wasnt beating the klits but he had good fundamentals and was an overall decent fighter. jirov's rabbit punch ****ed him up good tho. too bad

Yeah, he was actually pretty good. He beat Barret and knocked out Williamson in the 1st, both of these guys would be recycled in later years over and over as the top contenders.

He was exciting but I remember that even before the Jirov fight he wasn't respected on ESB. He was rather seen as a hype job, a train-wreck waiting to happen. He wasn't that bad, sure would be a welcome addition to the current HW scene.

Per Wiki [the "recently" would mean after an unsuccessful run for Senate in 2008]:

Most recently, Joe has taken a position with the Democrat Senate Majority heading up a local Buffalo liaison office. This newly created job is very controversial since it pays $70,000 a year plus benefits and is considered a "patronage" job by many, while the state of New York is in hard financial times. Ironically, Joe campaigned against such position while running for New York State Senate.[2]; however Joe claims he is qualified for this position.
    -------------

His post-Jirov fights were in places like Arkansas, Rhode Island, Michigan - I don't think he could get licensed in NY or Nevada. And he never did fight serious comp post-Jirov. Who knows - he may have been spooked by the potential health disaster it could cause.

Sounds like he found a decent way to make a living that doesn't run a risk of killing him.
