What happened to Jones? I heard two years ago that he was shot.

He was shot, and he still is shot. By carefully selecting opponents he'd look good against (and still not looking good against one of them), he's managed to make an unwinnable fight look winnable in the eyes of enough dummies that they can afford to make it a big PPV.

Good for him, but way too many people are going to be out $50 bucks to watch a blowout with a **** undercard.

Roy is becoming Ray Robinson....In the fact that Ray was virtually unbeatable till he got older and slowed a step and fighters who couldnt touch him before now have a chance of winning,

They are barely a few years apart in age...just the Jones fans having their excuses ready should Joe win....This ducking crap is bs...Joe didn't back outta 2003 with Hopkins, Hopkins did...Johnson calls out Calzaghe only when he's injured...and Joe is accused of ducking?? What the fk??
Johnson had MORE than his hands full with Clinton Woods, who RJJ Clobered, As Joe also would have/could nowAside from a shaky Toney and a Green, as was said..Hopkins, who big did Roy fight??
And it doesn't even matter, I judge fighters alot by their performance in the ring, more than who they do it again:patsch

roy is fighting joe only because joe wants to fight him.
he knows jones is not in his prime so he knows this would be the best time to fight him, prime jones would have killed joe.

those 3 defeats jones had were do to his weight loss and not letting his body heal correctly, so he came in those fights weak, sluggish, less energy then normal and his age.but i think its more of the weight then his age but a combo of both.

joe said he thought roy was washed but after three great wins he feels jones is back, well thats bs joe knows that jones is passed it and that those 3 wins were not that impressive at all, but he tell you that so he can get full credit if he beats him.

the only thing joe dont know is that even if roy is not at his very best, roy being just very good would be enough to beat the man from wales.i know roy want be like he was in his prime but if he can come in atleast half the man he once was then he has a great chance in beating joe.you have to remember half roy is still good enough to beat most, but i think we will see more then half roy but less then full prime roy, but im ok with that.roy by ud.hopkins get ready !

Of course he's not un-shot. But this fight is Marketable because of Roys reputation and all the media have to do is drum up some innuendo about the 'old Roy' being 'back' and other such bull**** and people will buy into it because they want to despite it making no common sense - much as was the case with Mike Tyson's repeated abortive comebacks some years ago. Boxing fans never fail to throw away their brains and yield to romantacism in cases like these. Perhaps the 'new Hearns' can take on Calzaghe next.

    Thats Pac:hey

But Jones was once the #1 fighter. I do believe this would be an exciting fight. I dont see him getting KO'd by Joe. My gut tells me Jones will KO Calzaghe but my mind says Joe will win a SD.

He was shot....and still is. But stylistically might have enough left to trouble Joe.
