I couldnt believe what i saw last saturday night, a guy seen as a superstar in the sport have a mediocre cutman, that couldnt stop a bleeding, I was so dissapointed , the just try to wipe his blood of his cut and thats it. It reminds me the time Tyson fought Douglas that they filled a latex glove with cold water to make the swell go down ,,simply incredible,, by the way i though that they were going to stop the fight:-(

yer that was pathetic, although roy's never been badly cut before and therefore never had to question the cutsman

i think the fight should've been stopped on cut Jones was fighting with one eye and run the risk of serious damage to that eye

if the fight wasn't as big as it was and it wasn't a big name like RJJ i garentee the ref'/doctor would've stopped it

From what i could tell they used no adrenalin (or what ever it is they use to stop the bleeding). They also used no vaseline.

    Very amatuerish.

I think Jones cut that corner himself. He was probably thinking "hey, I never got cut bad before.. Why should I spend a lot of $ on a good cutman..."

If I was in RJJ corner, I would have marched right in the back and got Zab's guys to stop the bleeding. They did a good job with Zab during his bout and was able to stop two gashes from blinding Zab.

RJJ lost that fight due to a combination of laziness, lack of ability to pull the trigger, and inability of his corner to stop the cut from bleeding.

A good cutsman should have large cotton buds with 1/1000 adrenaline, together with a wodge of vaseline on the back of his hand/wrist.

Guys like Mick Williamson, famed for his work with Ricky Hatton in particular - but also Lennox Lewis, David Haye and others is probably the best in the world.

The one Floyd Mayweather used to use, and the British guy employed by Mikkel Kessler are also exceptional.

I saw the cutman holding the adrenaline swab to roy's cut lots of times. Yeah they didnt stop the bleeding, but it was a bad cut that did continually get worse through the fight. But quite right, I didnt see him put on any vaseline.
