That was his own doing. His performance was borderline pathetic. He spoilt and held worst than Ruiz and fought like a deer caught in a headlight. Every time Ruiz landed he hurt him badly. He had two opportunitys to shine and he failed misreably. He did the same when he fought Vitali coming in at a career 260 plus lbs. Kirk was a waste of talent. He blew out his knee very badly ( i think he dislocated it) in his last bout and that was pretty much his comeback done.
Don't forget Oleg Maskaev. The night Kirk KO'd Oleg, it appeared as if Maskaev was done and Johnson was destined for big things. Ironic how their careers have gone since.
He is correct. Kirk had the fight, as sure as Golata had his against Bowe, except for the low blows. The difference is, Golata really DID hit low whereas, the quiet man put on quite the little display of thespianism.
This whole thread is bull ****. Farmboxer starts it by asking "where is he now?" But then two posts down he is calling Kirk Johnson a whale. Do yourself a favor and get a life! Otherwise, why not be honest and entitle the thread "Kirk Johnson is fat!" :nono
This is not true. Check BoxRec. Absent the point deductions, of which only one was legitimate, Kirk was ahead.
Kirk should have been credited with a KO, not a KD, from a body shot the felled Ruiz, who faked a low-blow.
Duva doesn't want to realese him and he offers him fights, but Kirk waits for termination or expiration.
Really? Duva was really quite gracious and favouraby-disposed to ending the contract in public statements. That is pretty lousy.
