lacy said it was never signed and did not want the fight.

tarver after not wanting to fight
    green/dawson/johnson
suddenly said yep i want to fight lacy for my IBO world belt.

now in his fight with woods, tarver is still saying it is a unification light heavyweight fight.

Lacy's done. I'm glad Tarver's fighting Woods instead. He has a great shot to win a title here.. This would make the inevitable Dawson/Tarver fight even bigger..

its true , sad to say, but lacy looks like he will never recover from the shoulder problems, his last bouts have been less than lackluster. Plus all the bull**** between the promotion companies never gave this fight much of a chance.
I'm happy though, I will be attending the Tarver/Wood and Dawson/Johnson bout in April, it looks like a good card.

Lacy was promoted by Tarver's Promoter - can't think of his name right now - but they had a falling out and Lacy says he never wants to work with that Promoter again. Therefore - the fight was never made - just talked about.

I'd just like to know how Lacy has retained his #4 Ring ranking after a very unremarkable victory over Manfredo (and I thought Lacy would hospitalize Manfredo). Manfredo may have improved since Calzaghe, but he's not even ranked. And, honestly, I think Tarver with his height/reach advantage would have wiped the floor with him, so it's probably for the best.

Jeff was saying all along that he was not interested in the Tarver fight. Golden Boy and Gary Shaw talked about it but Jeff kept saying that he wasnt going to move up to light heavyweight to fight Tarver.

Tarvers talk of "unification" is some of the most dellusional **** i have ever heard a boxer say. IBO?!?!?? I cant think a better one off hand, but I don't even know if the IBO would be the next most likely candidate to become a recognized organization.

i read an interview w/ lacy and he rightfully acknowledged that he didn't want that fight at this juncture. smart if you ask me because he obviously is not back yet and moving up to face even an old tarver is not the right step given lacy's condition. lacy also made fun of tarver wanting him now at this point (where he is obviously not at his best) when lacy claims he was willing to fight tarver pre joe cal.

Lacy aint done, he is still got what he had, he just need momentum and confidence, i think if he is macthed carefully his old fans would come flocking back. Id pick a confident Lacy of andrade, Miranda and guys of that ilk.
