Wow, totally 4got MJ. But I do remember watching Bailey play the ultimate gate keeper. MJ did not pass.
Another guy whose peak hype came around the same time as Jones, about whom you never hear one peep anymore: Tavoris Cloud. Guy was a big name in the sport and consensus top 2-3 light heavyweight in the world for a couple of years. Then, like Jones, he loses to a wizened elder and the aura is shattered, his name fading rapidly into oblivion as he proceeds to do nothing but lose some more (Jones after being KTFO by Randall Bailey eventually returning to get his ass kicked by Jaime Herrera, while Cloud, after Bernard Hopkins schooled him and seized his zero, would be stopped by Adonis Stevenson and Artur Beterbiev) before they both dropped off the map altogether four years ago.
Not totally true. Campillo totally exposed him and arguably beat him in the fight before Hopkins. Mike Jones was more of a John Tate type.
