We are smart arn't we? Part of MMA is striking, Haye is both extremely fast for his weight and packs leathal KO power in either hand, if he caught ANY MMA fighter flush they would be put to sleep, If he developed his game a little more (wrestling/ground work) he would be a hell of a threat, hell look what Ray Mercer did
I think Haye actually started doing kickboxing as a kid before boxing. Of course he would have to put the work in on his ground game but as he is already there striking wise he doesn't have to devote time to that.
What this Anderson Silva? http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=152826&cat=boxer 2 fights, 1 KO loss and a win against a novice. I admire Silva's skill in MMA but his boxing skills are clearly sub par compared to genuine pro boxers. But I agree the skill sets are completely different, you maybe an invincible boxer doesn't mean you can do well in MMA and vice versa.
Arlovski did OK against Fedor and controlled the distance well with his height advantage when he stuck to boxing. Freddy Roach trained him well. In truth, he only made ONE mistake. But that was enough for Fedor. :yep Once he gave up his height/reach advantage Fedor took him out. It really is about using what you have to your advantage. My son told me he read about an MMA fighter that had a match in Brazil once where kicks to the groin were legal. WHOLE different fight.
Wasn't he supposed to fight that huge black guy who fights in Japan also? Anyway, Tyson doesn't have the heart for MMA.
There were rumours of a fight against Bob sapp all 350lbs of him. He looks like a beast but can't really fight he gasses after throwing a few punches.
Kostello, I think he's right.... you do look kind of nerdy. And it does seem like you're verbally beating off mma any chance you get. Laverne Clark had some success in mma - and this was before Dana White told his fighters to keep the fights standing more. Prior to Dana White matches would regularly consist of one fighter laying on top of another. Clark was not a good boxer and Pat Militech stated numerous times that he's lazy when it came to learning grappling but some how by virtue of his athleticism and his use of his hands he found a nice amount of victories.
He was going to fight in Japan, then his contract got canceled after his latest coke bust in Vegas. There was some talk between Tyson and Bob Sapp about fighting. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ba4vF0x09dg[/ame]
Bobb Sapp used his NFL celebrity to bring himself fans. He fought up here in Tacoma, WA. Bob got $100,000... The guy that BEAT HIM... got $12,000... Bob is a couch potato with a name. Hell, I'm not scared of BoOb Sapp, lol. He's better than Floyd at promotion though,... everybody that fights in any kind of way... should study Bob Sapp.
This is what I look like... if you're ever in Seattle... you better holla at me. This content is protected
