No...he was already falling back from the shoulderblock...I see the punch you are referring to...but that was after he was falling.

Sequence of events...as evident from the slow replay...

The push/shoulderblock...the start of Peter's fall

The punch I mentioned...you can see it kind of pause Peter's fall for half a second...but it still didn't break the momentum

The punch you mentioned...this puch landed after the punch I mentioned, while he was already on his way back.

The slow replay between the rounds, makes it evident...

I think the ref would have been wrong to stop it, because Peter never let McCline hit him at will, even though he was in big trouble.

big tough hardhitting sob like peter??? you mean danny williams wasnt a big tough hardhitting sob? lets look at that. williams usually come in about 260 or 270, that takes care of the big part. he got up several times against vitali who was destroying him to the point that the fight was a farce, that takes care of the tough part and he has a 65.96 k.o. percentage so i would say he hits pretty decently hard. i think if vitali can regain even half of his former skills he will take peter apart. peter is the one having never faced an opponent like vitali and id even take the brixton bomber to kick peters ass too

I think Id call myself a fan of Williams and have seen a lot of his fights. Let me tell you, he is probably the most hot and cold fighter I have ever seen. On a good day he is a decent match-up ahainst any heavy out there, but on his bad days he is woeful. He was beaten in similar fashion by Sinan SAmil Sam and Audley Harrison. Basically, i dont think DW is a good example for any sort of cross-comparison, hes just far too inconsistent.

yeah he can be inconsistant but the comparison is based on him on a good day but the qualities listed for him are pretty consistant toughness, big, and a pretty good puncher

Thats right, but he wasnt good against Vitali, and lost in similar fashion to much lower level fighters.

I 100 percent, agree with what tony zale perpetuated having a chin is down to heart. You find that alot of the real glass jawed fighters, by that i mean guys who just cant take any kind of shot. You find a guy, who is a coward by nature. However calling people like morrison, wladimir klitchko etc glass jawed is a spurious. Because everyone, it doesnt matter how tough they are, only has to be caught on the jaw without expecting it, and they are almost certian to be knocked out.

I hope, at some point, that Peter fights Tua and Brewster.

That would be good punch tolerance gauges, as this Vitali fight will be.

Peter has a big ol thick bull-like neck, as did Tyson. (that's the only reason to compare the two), and I think a developed neck helps reduce the force of a shot.

But Peter's ability to take a shot was drastically different from Wlad to McCline. Almost strange, to see him start stumbling around against McCline, after taking those bone rattling shots, flush, from Klitschko.

But I still think part of it was that Wlad was not putting all he had on the punches, forget about power, and move and go for speed, as Steward was heard telling him between rounds.
