don't know what's going on with him. he was offered the fight with Cleverly but he turned it down.

maybe he has problems with management or something? either way he needs to sort things out because he's a good fighter who needs to be in the ring. not wasting his prime doing nothing.

His best option assuming he ducks his #1 contender (Gayrat Ahmedov, whom Shumenov manages and promotes  - so I mean ducking in the 'business decision' sense, not fear...it would just be awkward...) are cashing in on a Campillo rematch while still remotely viable before Campillo retires or racks up any more losses showing the inevitable effects of ruination by Kovalev - or unifying with Kovalev or Cleverly once they settle their business.

With Shumenov vs. Campillo III we might actually get to see one installment of the would-be trilogy scored correctly. :yep (assuming it got that far) Even though beating Campillo wouldn't be as creditable now, but he might for his own piece of mind like to very legitimately up on his rival.

With either Kovalev or Cleverly we get unification and guaranteed action.
