What happened to Rampage will happen to Brock...

    Basically, he will lose because he has come off a long lay-off right into a fight against a top-class opponent.

    I commend the bravery and spirit of both Jackson and Lesnar for doing so, but I can't help but think it's very naive.

    If any athlete has a long lay-off, it takes time and competitive action to shake off the rust and get back to where you were, in terms of peak performance.

    Rampage looked very sluggish tonight, he couldn't time Rashad properly to land punches, and when he did hurt him he didn't have the stamina or explosiveness to sustain the pressure and get him out of there. Had Quinton taken a tune-up fight before stepping back in against a hungry, dangerous and world-class fighter, he would surely have performed better and made it a closer fight.

    I strongly believe the same thing will happen to Lesnar. Carwin is coming off a hugely impressive win over a top opponent in Frank Mir, Lesnar has not fought in a long time - and unlike Jackson, he doesn't even have a lot of MMA experience to fall back on and help him shake off the rust and perform.

    These guys are being extremely naive. Thoughts?

    No. The difference in talent between Brock and Carwin is so big it shouldn't matter. I actually really like Carwins style but he's simply not on Brocks level as an athlete or a wrestler. Unless Lesner is seriously depleted from his illness it should be a nice reintroduction for him, style wise. As for taking warm up matches...doesn't happen when youre fighting for the UFC. They're on multi fight deals and Zuffa wont pay them to fight warm ups.

    Wrestling aside - Carwin has more experience and IMO better striking.

    I have a suspicion also that Brock's mental toughness/heart is not in Carwin's ballpark.

    Only a suspicion - But we've yet to see what happens when Brock gets cut, hurt or has to deal with adversity. Given how much of a sook he is in interviews etc - I think he's a bully and will fold when he deals with someone dishing it back.

    Just a theory - Can't wait to see Carwin test it out.

    I think that Brock will be alright. If he loses to Carwin it will be by a knockout and more than likely it will have been the same outcome as it would have been if he had never had to pull out of the fight due to his illness.

    If Carwin lands one clean bomb, I think we'll see Lesnar crashing to the canvas. I doubt Brock has the stand-up defence to stop it happening. TIMBER!!!!

    I disagree.

    I think Carwin will try to whup his ass, and Lesnar is more likely to pull a Rashad and try to make sure a fight doesn't break out, by leaning on him against the fence for 25 minutes.

    If the rashad vs rampage were a five round fight it wouldnt have done the distance. And I dont think carwin vs Lesner will go the distance either , the saying the "bigger they are......" no ones opinion means anything as these two are equal. cant wait

    Thats NOT gonna happen, Randy old as my dad Couture turned Lesnars back to the cage afew times. I somehow think Carwin is abit stronger then Couture. I see the fight happening just as the Mir fight. Uppercut city and a flurry of brutal GnP. Carwin 1st round ko.

    What I'm realizing from being on this forum a bit more these days is that if Hendo and JoePalooka say one thing, then the opposite is true because these two don't have enough brainpower combined to power a hand-fan for 3 seconds.

    Lesnar may have an edge on brute strength and wrestling skills over Carwin, but it's not going to be anywhere near enough to just manhandle Carwin and pin him down or hold him for 25 minutes. Even if Brock did have such a big advantage that he could do that and sustain it, that big beast is coming off a long lay-off and I seriously doubt he'll have the cardio to outmuscle Carwin for the full duration without one or both of them tiring badly. As soon as the fight goes back to feet, Brock gets iced.

    Whichever way I rationalize this fight, I see Carwin winning, and the opinions of Palooka and Hendo have only confirmed this.

    Possibly more than probably I would say.... every athlete is different.

    Lesnar seems the type to be a more natural athlete & not let himself get out of condition... Rampage seems like a guy that struggles with weight & seemed too big & sluggish vs Evans.

    I wouldnt bet against what your predicting but its not a given either.

    Rampage got beat because he's too one dimensional. And the fact that Evans is a far better fighter.

    Nah, Rampage is the better fighter if not the better athlete, Evans is not that good, closer to good than bad I admit but the Rampage that fougt Chuck beats Evans by brutal KO, any version of Evans.

    Cant wait til Shogun brutalizes his overrated ass.

    Bollocks. The best version of Rampage absolutely annihilates the best version of Rashad. Even at this stage in his career, if Rampage got a couple of fights under his belt to sharpen up, he'd KO Rashad. Hell he was rusty as the Titanic and still almost KO'd Glass Jaw Evans.
