You can say that about any fighter who has ever landed a good punch on anyone else. It's infantile and reductive reasoning. Mike Russo just one-punch KO'd Todd Duffee, but you can't then say "if Russo landed that punch on Shogun, he'd knock him out", because even though that may be true, the likelihood is he'd not land that punch on Shogun because Shogun is a much better striker than Todd Duffee is so the opportunity would not present itself - either because Shogun's defence would be too tight or because Shogun would attack Russo and knock him out before Russo had any opportunity. Of course that if Lesnar was presented with a wide-open opportunity to land a haymaker on the point of Carwin's chin, then Lesnar has the physical muscle to put Carwin's lights out - that's a point so obvious and simple that it's taken as red by anyone with a brain. But is Brock going to get the opportunity? I'd say no. Brock is not a proficient striker at the top level. He doesn't have good boxing skills, he doesn't have a good defence, and he doesn't have one-punch KO power in a striking match, as proven by the fact he's never knocked someone out cold in a striking match. Carwin has. Carwin is the better striker, and has more proven power. On that basis, it is more likely that Carwin knocks Brock out. Again, this is so simple that I don't know why your little brain cannot comprehend it.

I doubt I've ever spoken to anyone with a more infantile mindset than you, since I was a child myself. What on God's Earth do the laws of physics and anatomy have to do with who is going to win a fight in MMA?! :nut If you go by these 'laws', then you cannot predict any fight because technically anyone is physically capable of being knocked out by a strike. However, MMA is a sport, where a collection of skills and attributes are used, and you can make an educated guess at who will win any fight by having knowledge of the participants' strengths and weaknesses. I think Carwin has a bigger edge over Brock in terms of striking and punching power than Brock does over Carwin in terms of strength and wrestling ability. On that basis, I see Carwin scoring a knockout. "But by the laws of physics Brock can knock him out too!" Wow. What a valuable and productive insight that is. Erm, I said "Brock doesn't have KO power" because... I don't think Brock has single-shot KO power. Obviously if he was allowed a free punch at someone, he could knock them out, but as I said, you could say that about anyone. With regard to MMA, I don't think Lesnar is a striker that you could say possesses one-shot KO power, because... in MMA he has not KO'd anyone with one shot.

I do not think Brock can KO Carwin with a strike in this fight, because Carwin is a better striker and when they are on their feet, Carwin will be the one doing the damage, not Brock. Sorry, but that's my opinion and I'm not going to change it or modify it simply because you have a rod up your arse about Brock Lesnar.

Nope. Wrong again chum. There is a difference between the hypothetical situation I was speaking of, and landing a punch in an MMA contest. The hypothetical situation I referred to was the impossible scenario of Lesnar using Carwin as a punchbag, where Brock would be allowed a clean, full-force shot at Carwin's chin. In the upcoming MMA contest, that opportunity is of course not going to happen. Even if Lesnar catches Carwin, it won't be with the same effect as in that hypothetical. The blow would be landed in a combat situation, and the effect will be lessened by variables such as Carwin being positioned to minimize the impact of the blow, or more significantly Lesnar not being permitted a wide, open target to take aim and use maximum leverage and power on.

In actual combat, I do not believe Brock can KO Carwin with one shot, because Brock has not achieved this against men whom I believe have inferior punch resistance to Shane. Yet again, rocket science this is not. atsch

Let's wait and see then. Brock will have a slight advantage in terms of strength and wrestling ability, but will these advantages be enough to allow him to finish Carwin? I doubt it. Can Carwin weather the storm, take the fight back to feet, and knock Brock out? I think so. Let's wait and see, Professor Beebs.
