For a guy who took a beating in a few fights, he's still a relatively well spoken, thoughtful man. What he was offered was insulting. If you've seen his current physical condition, which is great for his age, he'd be better suited at cruiser.......but ultimately better staying home.

    How isn't it fair?

You know Pajkic was supposed to be Ruddock's comeback opponent, yes?

Pajkic managed to hurt Fury, and lost via gift stoppage (British level to the extreme) but that was an awful version of Fury. Fat, lazy, careless. Not half as sharp as he's looked subsequently against Rogan and Maddalone.

Granted, Donovan is pushing 50 and been gone nearly a decade but in the presser where he called Pajkic out he looked fit and had been carrying a ten win streak into his late thirties in his last attempted comeback. Pajkic may be a little better than the guys he was beating at the turn of the century, but not by much. Fury's awfulness that night really flattered him. I still don't think he would have made a terrible choice for Ruddock to make his triumphant return and reclaim his Canadian HW title. In fact, I could very easily see Neven having gotten SMASHED. :D (especially if Ruddock attacked early...getting dragged into deep water would have likely spelled doom)

No, the conversation had nothing at all to do with Fury - except that Pajkic's limitations against high-level opponents (even ones having an off night and looking like ****) were exposed against him and proved that Ruddock may have been onto something cherry-picking him for a homecoming victim.

They held a press conference and everything, with Razor saying Pajkic was in possession of "his belt". That was the first time most boxing fans outside Canada heard of Pajkic, long before he fought Fury.

One Smash, and Razor could have claimed a minor domestic title and popped a cherry (a very padded zero, but a zero nonetheless). It isn't quite Vitali emerging from nowhere and spanking Sam Peter, but it still would've made for a nice story.

:bart Prime Ruddock was one respectable SOB and would knock out all but a couple of today's HW pretenders. (and likely give the champions a rough go)

Hold on, I am not very familiar with Ruddocks comeback and I havent even read this thread. So was there somekind of small build up for Ruddock/Pajkic at Canada? Pretty cool actually.

And only after this fight did not happen Pajkic went to fight Fury..? Now it start to clearing up for me.

Correct. This was all about a year and a half ago, I think. Not long after Pajkic claimed the Canadian HW title. (that used to belong to Ruddock on two different occasions, with short-lived reigns in two completely different decades - and which he never actually lost in the ring either time)

There was a video of Ruddock training and everything, looked fit for his age. People who'd seen a fair amount of Pajkic at that point weren't sure, opinion seemed to be split as to whether Razor could pull it off. It was seen as a coin toss.
