Although the contracts were kept behind a confidentiality clause there was alot of talk about there being this 2 way rematch clause, im sure both Finkel and DiBella alluded to it which is where the rumour was born. I cant find the proof but i remember a Finkel interview where he was spitting at Hearn for not offering one and pointed out that Wilder wasnt a challenger he was a champion like Fury was the Lineal and thats why he was getting one, which he said after the contract was accepted.

Now im hearing that Fury and the team are all very eager for an immediate rematch in the new year but have to wait for Wilders team to decide if they want one or not. Also im hearing that Frank Warren is writing to the WBC to demand a rematch due to the plain robbery and is going to ask questions about that Mexican judge. Why would they need to go through this is they have a rematch clause in their contract?

Is that clause null and void based on the result being a draw?

I think the contract might of had a clause for if Tyson won, which is in a lot of champions contracts now, but Tyson didn't win, he drew, so Wilder might be free to negotiate other fights. Also there might be a clause that theres a certain amount of time for the rematch to take place, so Wilder might be free to fight Joshua before that date. We can all come with ideas, but without seeing the contract it's all just theories,

One thing I do know is that neither Wilder or Joshua will be accepted as number one until they beat Fury.

Well, it was also supposed to be 50/50 purse split, and that didn't wind up being the case. Credit where its due, I recall you were dubious that that was on the level even before there was credible info that we were given misinformation.

There may not be a mutual rematch clause, and if so, its possible they didn't account for the possibility of a draw, or some other technical provision wasn't triggered.

I’m pretty sure there isn’t one in this case. Frank Warren said the next step would be to write to the WBC to order the rematch. That will only take place if Wilder wants it to and personally think they won’t. I think Wilder will see what deal he can get out of Hearn and then go back to Fury if need be...

Yeah I recall hearing there was a rematch clause for both fighters, but it did not cover a draw. I doubt Warren will be able to get the WBC to order the rematch, but who knows..

I sincerely hope there is a rematch but I doubt it will be next for either fighter.
