I think most of us were surprised at how competitive the fight was between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou on October 28th. But what was the real cause?
We need to see how Francis Ngannou goes against other opponents before jumping to too many conclusions.
I would say it's that Fury didn't train properly and that he is in decline. Fury was chubby, even for him and he looked slower afoot and hand speed-wise.
I think it's a combo of him not training and Francis being more adept than expected. We won't know if he's declining until the Usyk fight.
Fury didnt train properly. You can just tell in his movements. I think he thought Francis would just quit on his stool after 3 rounds.
Well , fury thought he has the biggest ***** in the division , until francis put his black howitzer out .
It's bizarre that 99.99999% of people still don't understand that Ngannou has done boxing training for over 10 years or something like that and just maybe he has boxing skill and was working well with feinting....and maybe he was so damn strong Fury got intimidated since the first round.....or maybe that Ngannou did a masterful hook counter when Fury still had his right arm throwing the cross that knocked Fury down in the 3rd round...... Fury is lucky that Ngannou was nervous and literally made his pro boxing debut that night.
What happened was more Fury than Francis, Fury has been half retired for like 10 years. But when you're half retired and keep going back to the well, that well eventually runs dry. That happened. We all know you can get old overnight in boxing.
In this order: - he's in decline - he didn't train - he underestimated Ngannou The training he can rectify, but not the years of abuse he's put his body through.
