I guess fury really believed he is able to show ngannou of and make fun of him by manhandling also a mma monster in the clinch / lean .

After the total fail in his always proven discipline (the clinch ) as well feeling ngannous punching power in the 3rd he was so shocked that he struggled to find his rhytm until end and only 'survived' the fight .

Interesting he tried the clinch multiple times and found every time out he will be overpowered by ngannou . No idea why .

Tyson Fury underestimated Ngannou, and Ngannou surprised Tyson Fury. Tyson Fury said after the match that he trained properly for this fight (I don't know if he's lying).

Fury thought it’d be a light and easy sparring match for him and wanted to make it a pretend close and entertaining fight but didn’t expect Ngannou to be that serious and prepared. Had he known going in Ngannou was super serious, he’d probably do way better regardless if he trained differently or not.

Going to assume the forum size queens and Ngannou buttkissers, you know, Miniq and Co, believes Fury was properly trained and in great shape, seeing as they seem to think Ngannou is already the second best HW out there.

It's a combination but the obvious part was he didn't train properly because he was looking past this fight and didn't want to be overtrained.

In the build up we saw ngannou play a blinder and look slow and bumbling on the pads.

He thought he could walk through him, he was wrong.

The fighter we see vs uysk will be completely different.

    1. You can't train for an opponent who is a such an unknown
    2. Fury had been out for a year, he had a full camp but is was mostly weight loss, he can't lose weight and gain his full conditioning in a single camp, his next camp against Usyk will be conditioning not weight loss.
    3. Francis DID perform extradionarly well that's undeniable.

Fury & Usyk arn't in camp currently, because they're both in good shape and know an overly long camp on their old ass bodies will do more harm than good. They both enter camp in December with a small break at Christmas.

Having designed this poll, I probably should have added choices for:

"It's more than one of the above"

    and...

    "It's something else"

But hindsight is 20-20, I guess.

    Here is my own explanation:
    • Fury looking past the fight and not training
    • Ngannou being better than expected.
    • Ngannou not falling into the traps that a certain Fury opponent did repeatedly over a span of three fights
But I do still wonder if Fury is in decline, too. That's an open question and it's why I answered "I don't know".

 Ngannou did well against a guy who didn't train fully....and you think that makes Francis the second best HW now. Got it...whatever kiddo...

A few questions: How old was Francis when he started boxing? How old was he when he started MMA? Ive read that he came to MMA from an amateur boxing background.

A mixture of 1 and 2, I believe. Didn't train properly - and is in decline. Add a third option ... that he underestimated Ngannou.

As much as I respect Ngannou, there's no denying that the pace of this fight was slow. The most punches thrown in any round by either fighter was 39 and neither fighter threw 30 or more punches in any other round. Fury was forced to fight a fight that suited Ngannou.

Other than Ngannou knocking down Fury in the 3rd and our slack-jawed amazement at Fury's inability to dominate - this was a really boring fight.
