Not sure if i would not put ngannou infront of usyk at 3 when we are not talking boxing skills but only who would finally win the fight .
Doesn't change the fact he's never fought a pro fight, Ngannou was very good especially for a debutant but Fury should have handled him with ease. Fury got embarrassed.
I see a lot of parallels between Klitschko when he was fighting Fury. And Fury now when he was fighting Ngannou. Klitschko was having issues against Fury because he was so used to fighting smaller opponents. When he had to fight Fury he tried to clinch a lot but it did not work against the big strong Fury. Also when they got close Klitschko’s muscle memory was to clinch not punch. So he didn’t let his hands go like he should. Fury also got used to fighting mostly shorter or less stronger fighters (Wilder). He also tried to clinch against Ngannou because that is what he always does. But against the big strong Ngannou that was not the right thing to do. Klitschko was a Kronk fighter when he did fight Fury. Fury is a Kronk fighter now and against Ngannou obviously. So they were trained under the same philosophy. Klitschko was having marital issues and a new born baby during the preparation for the Fury fight. Klitschko always came into good shape. But maybe he trained just that little less and his mind was not laser focused on the fight. He no longer had Emanual Stewart with him. And I think he was just burned up from his very long career and title reign. I think after he took a break he did come back refreshed and better against Joshua then he was against Fury. Maybe not physically (although still very good) but definitely mentally. Fury also had a new born kid during the preparation for the Ngannou fight. Fury gets easily distracted as it is so I think that definitely didn’t help. Other fighters like GGG and Kovalev also had pregnant wives and new born kids to deal with in the preparation for the fights they lost.
Its easier said than done when ngannou has eaten fury,s best shots and even elbows without any impression and fury,s idea to tire him by clinching backfired where in fact fury tired out trying this . From a physical point of view ngannou is a tank . Simultany he was equipped with a good strategy (mike gave him hints ?) and by himself he has massive punching power - look not only rd3 but fury,s face after the fight . A technical superior but relativly small / weak punching boxer like usyk would have a hell of a night against such an opponent when we talk only who of them is more likely to kiss the canvas .
maybe it was a flashback of the first david haye pull out. joking aside fury has always switched off when fighting "lesser fighters" at world level tyson fury has always delivered and that's all that counts words are just words said at any given moment life always goes on
