I haven't heard much about that Russian puncher Victor Oganov lately. Has he disappeared?

Hope so...Very overhyped, I think they were wasting T.V spots on him.

He last fought on the Darchinyan Mijares undercard and lost to Andre Dirrell.

Hardly a waste, the fans usually have a fondness for punchers. Yoo bad he never learned how to box.

I would, the man had zero skills and failed miserably as soon as he stepped outside the aussie domestic scene.

People were talking of him fighting Kessler and Calzaghe...Even Fenech tried to get on the wagon, to try and make something off Oganov.

He was pissed when they stopped him vs Dirrell. Oganov was still coming foward although he was getting tagged badly round after round. He wasn't badly hurt though, although he was really getting nailed.

I really believed him when he said his plan was to get Andre during the later rounds. He was very upset. I definitely think he will be back. Great gatekeeper type if nothing else.

Give me Andrade vs Oganov :bbb

He was simply on the wrong TV spots. Yes, there are more deserving fighters of the Showtime slots that Oganov notched on 2 different occasions but that doesn't mean that he can't have a decent career. He's clearly not championship material but he's a serviceable fighter who can give us some good fights if he were to show up on FNF's. Quite frankly, I think he's the perfect candidate for that show. As long as you put him in there with someone who comes forward you have the ingredients for a good scrap. Dirrell took him to the cleaners but he never stopped trying. He's strong and he can take a punch. Give him someone he can operate against and put it on ESPN2. I'll watch it and I'm sure a lot of others would too. His two appearances on Showtime, albeit losses, have at least put him on the radar.

It's amazing how everybody thinks you have to be a top-flight fighter or you're worthless. You can be an average fighter and still excite the fans.

whether he has many skills doesn't mean there is no place for him. most average fans want to see guys bash the crap out of each other. he is certainly one person who is either going to ko you or be ko'd himself if he steps up again. although it must be noted that he is as tough as a bull.

he just has litterally no defence.

Exactly why you match him with a fighter of equal or lesser defensive ability. Like I said, he can be a very entertaining fighter if the right formula is used. Matchmakers should be lining up to put this guy on their shows. He's not a very good fighter but he won't be involved in any boring fights either.

I just personally dont find him that exciting though...I just dont enjoy his style, and I looove a good war. But there has to be some sort of skill level there. He actually doesnt really fight at a high pace, he cant.
