Obviously past prime and over the past couple of years he has been slipping but he's an elite ATG heavyweight. Even in the Jenkins fight he couldn't pull the trigger with the straight right and when he did it lacked speed and power. The night he fought Fury he came up against a guy who was not only bigger and younger but alot faster. It's happened to all of the great fighters. As a Wlad fan I'm hoping he had one last great performance in him in the rematch.
Yes he did. Thompson is vastly underrated and to be fair would have held his own quite easily in the 90's. It was the first time I can recall seeing someone try to walk Wlad down.
He's always fought with some level of trepidation, in a more safwety first manner. But against Fury, it looked more like Fury's rhythm getting the better of him. Not to mention hitting someone taller after all these years will be something new.
Same thing that eventually happens to all fighters, he got old. Still even in his current state with the right gameplan he is capable of beating a fighter at the level of Fury.
If he cracks Fury's chin he'll put him down, but that was the same in the first fight. He has to mix it up and ad lib, probably gamble on getting him out of there. I think he'll win, Wlad's pedigree is proven even if he is a lot older than Fury.
I can't recall Lewis ever facing a southpaw in his whole career tbh. As for Thompson I think he'd of caused Lewis the type of problems he did Wlad. I think he'd beat the Tua, Johnson, Botha and Ruiz's of the fight game.
He couldnt pull the trigger against fckin ibragimov.people slated haye because he couldnt get past the jab and grab. Vitali had a **** poor resume but u could tell he was good enough to beat better opposition and as a hw champ he would take a punch if needed.wlad is as much of a warrior as audley harrison.just with an effective if appauling style.name one time hes been evenly matched and dug in to win.hes a fraud.if thats not blatently obvious your blind. Do people seriously think that because of his size and power he would stand a cat in hells chance of getting out of tge 1st round, lewis would knock him clean as he did with grant and golota.show me a fight that shows anything resembling great plz
Do you think he would spark out ruddock, young briggs, holyfield etc.i hated lewis but he was the real deal
Ibragimov was negative throughout the fight and was an excellent fighter who knew what he was doing. As for Haye don't know what fight you was watching but Haye did everything in his power not to engage. Wlad was the one trying to force the fight. Amazing that you bring up Golota and Grant, two fighters who I'd pick to lose to the two fighters in Haye and Ibragimov. Wlad is a top 10 ATG heavyweight, regardless of whether you agree or not.
