Wlad is a very good fighter, but he's also extremely one dimensional and does not have the boxing IQ to adapt mid-fight.
Faced with a bigger fast-enough opponent, the jab-and-grab was taken away from Wlad. Without a plan-b, or the ability to counter, use angles, or dig deep and slug it out, Wlad was stupefied and was simply out boxed.

You'll notice that throughout his career he only fought 2 big guys with good speed. Both of them out boxed him rather easily. Sanders out boxed and KOed him quick, Fury danced his way to an easy UD. Every other opponent was either fast but small, or big but slow. Many were even small and slow.

For the rematch, Wald will need to bring a new dimension to his game. If he does the same old, he'll lose again.

 

I remember after Fury beat Wlad he was quite generous in his posts regarding Wlad...didn't last long though.

Mavrovic had serious power in his right hand and Haye had a glass chin , going down to almost every decent boxer he faced.

 

Cavity creep, Wlad's hvw run was worse than Tysons, and the manner in which he did it doesn't compare to how Tyson did it either. People will remember Mike far longer than they do Wlad. Wlad is more remembered for his ko losses.

Tyson may be remembered more for the excitement he brought but as for overall career I don't think so. The fact he went 9-5-0-2 post prison says alot.

Maybe if he had Ali's big hands his career may have gone that little bit better?

We never cared about Tysons post prison record, just like you never cared about Wlad ever being kod or poisoned in his losses. He lost to Purrity and was a ****en Gold medalist? Really? Post prison Mike was washed. Wlad lost early, lost in his prime 2 times and reigned over a bunch of bums for years until he lost to another ****en bum in Fury. Still I give him credit because he survived.
