yes kickett got knocked down. He was wobbly but regained his composure very very quickly.

Kickett boxed well but I think he needs to work on a lot of things.

He needs to use his uppercut more - he had a couple of good ones here and there but his opponent was open for an uppercut a lot of the time.

He needs to spend some time with mundine so that choc can teach him a stiff jab... a jab that actually hurts or does something. His jabs are more like playful slaps at the moment.

Then of course there's his defense - he's a little over-confident at the moment. But I think Kickett has learnt a lot from this fight and he will now be working on his defense, instead of relying purely on his reflexes.

Referee called it a slip so does not count as a knockdown. I think it was a little hard for Willie to get up for this bloke IMO, he seemed a little flat tonight. The Indo was tough and brave (as always)

I think Willie is highly over hyped by some of my fellow oz boxing fans.He should be putting away these bums or atleast untroubled shut outs.

I know we are desperate for a world stage gun but Willie aint it.Good boxer and has plenty of time improve, but nah dont think we will be seeing world titles around his waist.

For me willie got sat down of the floor...should have been a 10 - 8 against him.

What is the chance Willie looks for another trainer/ manager?

Hi Ashley, only the referee can call a kockdown in pro boxing. If he doesn't call it then the judges cannot score it as such. I doubt he will look for another trainer. Craig has great loyalty from his lads and for a reason, he's a great trainer that looks after his lads like kings. Willie was just off the boil last night

i wouldnt read too much into that kd...as discussed in previous threads, theres been some pretty good fighters, hall of famers actually, that were kod by no bodies in their early fights. many great fighters have been kd in their early careers. willie got kd....so?

I agree he just looked a bit off, tonight but won easy, that Indo kid would give alot of top aussie at 130 or 135 trouble, He will be up for his next fight, I think it is this channel 10 his fight, so he will get up for this fight.

Yeah I agree and he did some silly things in the 4 and 5 round, But then he just took over after the 5 round and bash the indo kid around the ring.

Zappa has edged ahead of Willie in my view. Willies opponents have been stronger I admit but his jab lacks authority and he struggles to put opponents away. Both are good prospects.I am still disappointed by the quality of opponents dished up to Lance Gostellow.Lance looks good but rarely is given step up opponents

Maybe...we can put it down to his late call up. He only went 10 rounds against a world ranked opponant less than 3 weeks ago.
