What happens if a mandatory loses his warm-up fight?

Since I have been not so long in boxing, I was wondering about the next fact :

What happens if a mandatory for the world title loses his warm-up fight. As a recent example: Pulev is the IBF mandatory in the heavyweight division and now has the right to fight Wlad. However, Wlad is fighting Leapai in April so meanwhile Pulev has to take an easy fight to stay busy. Let's say he fights someone like Audley Harrison.

What happens if Harrison wins that fight? Does he become the new mandatory for Wlad or what?

Depends on how much money is involved.

If the mandatory loses but is a big draw then sanctioning bodies and promoters will find a way to make the fight happen.

I look at Judah fighting Floyd after losing to Baldomir.

Then there should be 2 scenarios. One is to make Harrison a mandatory (less likely) and another is to order him to fight in a final eliminator (most likely to rematch the guy who just lost that unfortunate fight). It depends on the ranking of that "warm up guy". In Harrison's case he would either have to rematch Pulev or fight another high ranked contender by certain organization. Of course, that's in theory. They could also give that guy who just lost a title shot regardless of the loss.
