The Polish, exactly the same punches as Bute. Lucien deserves some credit and stake. :bbb Just that today is 2015!! I wonder if Bute is past prime.

DeGale looked good against bums, not even world championship challengers. Maximum intercontinental boxers.

That was an amazing post Serge, didn't expect that much information or that well thought out of a post. Thanks you.

    Thanks Serge, for the Breakdown.
We do have to take in consideration that the Bute you showed in those video was a confident Bute who let his hands go. And a Degale who didn't receive the confidence boost for beating Dirrell and becoming World Champion.

Bute is definitely past his best but he's still a world class operator and he carries legit one punch KO power. Mentally he has just not been the same since the Froch mauling though. I think this is what started the rot with regards to him doubting himself.

But that was an absolute peach of a shot though from a fighter with seriously heavy hands.

Nah, DeGale has looked the part against good fighters, both in the pros and the ams. He's finished Gonzales and Periban in style, neither of whom has been stopped before, and had Dirrell not been given a near 90 second break during the interval between the 2nd and 3rd rounds after being dropped and badly hurt in the last minute of the 2nd and then another extended one between the 3rd and 4th rounds, again after being hurt in the previous round, he may well have got him out of there early too.

DeGale is going to finish him today. Bute ends here in Canada. Sorry to say. As a fellow Canadian, a part of me wants him to do well but DeGale will be too much

Yeah, I do realize that. All the momentum is with DeGale here and Bute minus confidence is a much more easy out for DeGale than a prime Bute who wasn't gun-shy and plagued with self doubt. I hate to quote Eddie Hearn but I thought the exact same thing a few days ago as he says in this video

I'm a fan Serge, I watched Bute's training , seen him using his right more, improving his defense, getting more sharp also before this fight. I also know before Froch loss he used to balloon-up getting somewhere between 192-195 and then putting much more work to get rid of that, resulting in him having less punch residence, less power and less energy for the fight itself. Look at his visit in England pictures next to Froch, how chubby he locked. I guess that also why Grant(Bute's new trainer) said he used to overwork himself. With all that being said, the real problem is how much he improved his defense, and how will he do mentally in the fight when Degale will unleash power shots against him. I say this because in the same trainings I also saw Bute freeze for a split second and reset his combination instead of keep going when he gets clipped first by his opponent and still saw part of him being gun-shy even tho he looked like he trows more.
Because if he gets close to the same zone(mentally) that he was before Froch, look at Andrade fight, and Degale does what he sais, Bute has a great great chance to take him out with uppercut to the chin or body, via counter.
