Says the guy who flies into a latent rage anytime anyone mentions anything vaguely gay on this site, you should come out and admit it already, your hero Cotto would have no problema with it, seeing as how he spent many hours with close friend Orlando Cruz in the amateurs.:gayfight
I'm a huge huge huge Cotto fan but GGG will murder him. I'd give him 1% chance of winning. ONce he taste GGG's power he will run all night and get pummelled ala Margarito's beatdown.
If Cotto demands such catch-weight, he will just need to drop the belt. This is MW, not Cotto-weight. Golovkin doesn't really need this midget on his resume -- he just needs the belt. Of course, he could use money, but not at the cost of cutting 4-5 additional pounds.
Not gonna happen. We all saw in the trout fight that if Canelo wants to run and stay away and survive he can. Cotto needs a Ko to win.
I think Canelo had a lot of weight to cut. He looked big when him and Cotto were on that Mexican TV station show. He probably wanted to cut the weight slowly. Canelo needs to go up to full middleweight after this fight.
Cotton doesn't need to drop the belt, he won the belt fair and square knocking out the MW champ of the world and making him retire. If Cotton somehow does find the courage to fight GGG(that's IF Cotton beats Canelo twice and Floyd which is unlikely) then Bummy has to play Cotton's tune and follow his demands, otherwise GGG can fight for the vacant WBC belt against Curtis Stevens in 2018 at the age of 38.
If Cotto beats Alvarez he has many many options. He could give Alvarez a rematch and make mo money. He could campaign for a big money rematch with Mayweather. He could seek revenge and try to get a rematch with Pacquiao. He could go back to 154 and clean up on the new young lions like Thurman and Porter. But there is as much chance of Cotto fighting Little g as there is in him fighting Quillin or Lee.
