Seems like Pac vs May doesn't happen, and Mayweather has mentioned this might be the fight that happens.
I don't really agree with martinez having to weigh 150, but if it happens... What kind of fight takes place? I think 154 Martinez would be pushing himself to make these days, but 150? I think at 154 i'd favor Martinez slightly because of his size, *IF* he were to actually impose some of his will and not only his skill.
I see Mayweather landing many shots, frustrating Martinez at first, until a more aggressive Martinez realizes he can't sit back and box Mayweather, steps up and applies some pressure on him. I think once he lands something big on Mayweather (going to take a while though) then Martinez starts to light him up, and mayweather at least goes down... This is of course if it's a healthy martinez.

Floyd faced DLH in 2006 @ 154 but can't face Sergio there? Sergio who hasn't weighed in at 150 lbs in almost a DECADE? That's as bad a fight as Pac-Cotto II as far as I'm concerned.

Martinez: "i want to fight floyd at 150 lbs"

Floyd haters: "Floyd is scared, he wont even fight him at 150"

Mayweather: "If Martinez can make 150, why not"?

Floyd haters: "Why is Floyd making him fight @ 150? hes a *****"

u floyd haters are pathetic. and when it comes to martinez, BEGGERS CANT BE CHOOOSERS. and i guarantee Martinez will weigh in @ 165 on fight night

and why you saying it's another punk move by mayweather when he hasn't even done anything yet

but anyways, I'll post my old analysis on this fight:

The way I see Floyd fighting and frustrating Sergio is by coming forward with his high guard and catching and neutralizing Sergio's jab while he tries to establish his jab. It's hard to out jab a southpaw who is taller than you (Ortiz) but if Sergio keeps his hands down, then you can land easy.

I see Floyd maybe getting caught a few times in the first few rounds from Sergio countering him, while Floyd tries attack him with he hands down. Barker had success because he didn't give Sergio much to counter and when he did throw, he would step back and also bring his hands back quick and high enough for him not to get countered.

I think Floyd will feint Sergio into moving a certain way with his hands down and then follow up with a lead right. He'll also make sure to get out the way and pot shot to avoid counters like this

Sergio after a while may try to start leading more like he did with Barker, but Floyd won't stand still when he flurries. In the words of Money Mayweather - "You won't see him hitting me with that wild ****." When Floyd is in his high guard, he still makes sure he can retreat quickly with his feet. So combos like this WILL NOT be landing on Floyd

Also Sergio is the bigger man, but if they end up in the clinch (which I expect Floyd to fight in the pocket some), then Floyd will get the better of it. I think Sergio's inside fighting is lacking. Even when Barker had him on the ropes, he would just sit there and put one hand up and get caught over and over.

I wasn't one of the ones who cared if he would fight him at 150.At 150,the fight is garbage, period.Don't you understand that floyd saying Ill fight martinez at 150 only feeds into the perception that he wants easy fights?Come on now.The man is scared of shitless of Martinez so he wants him to weigh in eight pounds lower than his last weight. And who cares about his fight night weight. He had to drain himself for the fight, and thats all that matters.

Floyd also didnt have any power at 154...this is the reason for catchweights(Manny steward broke it down once before)....its so a smaller guy can fight a bigger guy at a weight they both can make...Floyd cant make 54, he can only make 150...but Martinez said he can make 150, so this way they both come in weighing the same amount!...me personally, I could care less about the weight, I just want to see these two in the ring together, fuk that other bul****

What difference does it make if Floyd can only Make 150? Come in at 150, then, and let your opponent come in at 154. Draining Sergio down to 150 is even more offensive then ANY catchweight Pacquiao has done.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!...No its not, cuz last time Floyd trained for a fight at 54', he trained weighed 150, but because he's a natural ww, he came into the ring weighing 147....it would be ******ed for him to take that risk again where he's fighting at 54, and his weight is unpredictably going up and down and ends up going into the ring at 147 against a guy that's coming in the ring at 170 perhaps...he's gonna be in the ring with a lion foreal if he is that dumb...at 150 they can weigh the same at the weighin, and come in the ring closer in weight...the fighter has to make choices that are smart for HIM..and Floyd is just too small to have faith that he will come in at a nice weight

I'd say it's a garbage fight at 150lbs just as Oscar vs. Pacquiao was garbage at 147lbs. You can't drain a guy, beat him, and claim it's a good victory. If Floyd beat Martinez at 154lbs, that'd be an excellent win.

You and I agree for once on something. Is it any wonder why some of these Floyd fans gets the hate they get? King Murk up here would be the first one to **** about pacquiao's catchweights (understandably) but is OK with Floyd dropping sergio by 10 pounds because he "has to make decisions that are smart for him?" FFS, that's a joke.
