i don't think oscar joins TR. he has his own license, he will just rebuild gbp and takes more control. he is still popular with chicanos, he is close to espinoza and he will get a few dates with showtime and hbo.

 

The end of oscar. Richard leaves with most fighters cos of the way the contracts were drawn, he leaves with his contacts, leaves with loyal workers, Leaves with MGM, mayweather, leaves with corona and the other sponsors, sells his stock in GBp, etc.


Sadly, oscar knows what's up and has decided to comport himself. Mayeather vs maidana is GBp biggest event this year, he was not present...rather he was sent to do the public appearance in last weekends fight.


Which employee would publicly go against a boss and remain in the job if indeed he could be sacked?

Depends on how nasty the split is, but I see the boxing scene will be a lot different in the near future.

The big prize is Canelo.

Mayweather/Haymon/Schaefer/Showtime are pretty much a lock.

Boxing scene is definitely changing though, more and more you see fighters taking control of their careers and going into free agency.

 

The only reason canelo seems what he is , is because there are fighters at GBp that can make him look good without it being considered a miss match.

Take one loss from Lara and another from ggg and see what use canelo would be to oscar.

Isn't he himself technically an employee?
How can he take anyone else with him?
I can see him taking the fighters not signed to GBP (not sure how many there are) but apart from that he'd have to either start from scratch or join TMT etc.
Why would the sponsors leave? Do they have a contract with GBP or Scheafer?
Wouldn't De La Hoya just consolidate the fighters he has, hire a new CEO & keep his Showtime dates, co-promote with Top Rank, Main Events, DBE etc for fights that we both want on HBO also?

 

Most of the Haymon guys likely aren't signed to GBP. If Schaefer is fired and/or does not have a non-compete at the end of his contract, he probably starts anew or joins TMT, Haymon sends his fighters there and away from GBP, and Showtime starts working exclusively with them and not GBP.

 

Lol...keep the show time dates? Which shows time dates? Last I remember, mayweather is the only one who has a show time contract.

Is it surprising to you that when a top management staff switches employers, they usually go along with the best hands in their previous company? Even more so when they might have been recruited by the said individual? Is that not what resignation notice is for?

Why do the sponsors leave? Are you for real? Sponsors have been know to jump ship when there have been change in management and if they lose faith in new management. That apart, the sponsorship is geared towards a winning brand, why sponsor GBp when the power would be shifting with Richard to possibly Tmt.

Richard has publicly said he would leave before GBp does business with toprank. I guess you have heard much from oscar and arum since then..... Thought as much. Lol

schaefer is golden boy promotions...fighters love him....his employees love him....hell take both with him should oscar do something dumb and can him.....be a dumb move to can the guy who built this company from the ground up.....

Another Schaefer will always come along. There are lots of good CEOs out there who can take over Schaefer's role.
