Lets say Glen Johnson knocks Green out and he gets 3 points. Then Froch beats Abraham and has either 4 or 5 points and Abraham has the 3 from his fight with Taylor. Then Dirrell beat Ward and he had either 4 or 5 points. Froch 4/5 points Dirrell 4/5 points Ward 4 points Abraham 3 points Johnson 3 points Green 0 points Who gets into the semi's Johnson or Abraham???? Froch, Dirrell and Ward are in and Green's out so who gets in between Abraham or Johnson??? Do they have to fight as a tie breaker??? What happens?
Abraham would go to the semi's having won more rounds of boxing in the tournament. (or having more points on the scorecard) We would then have Dirrell-Ward and Froch-Abraham again
I think according to the rules, AA has to face Johnson in an eliminator to determine who's gonna go the the semi finals
The worst thing that can actually happen is Green winning a TKO by injury or something against Glen, Froch getting KO'd by Abraham and Dirrell losing by a controversial split decision. Ward 6 points (3-0, 0KO's) Abraham 6 points (2-1, 2KO's) Green 3 points (1-1, 1KO) Froch 2 points (1-2, 0KO's) Dirrell 2 points (1-2, 0KO's) but ending behind Froch for losing on SD, and beïng out on 2 controversial losses.
If Abraham &/or Dirrell win, I think it will be hard for the ring to rate the top SMW's. If Ward beats Dirrell especially if he beats him well he will be clear number 1 in the division.
the S6 was a great idea and i'm glad they are still pushing forward despite setbacks due to injuries...but i'm fine w/ just having froch/aa and ward/dirrell and calling it the semis. green does not deserve these type of shots. kudos to johnson for stepping up, though.
