I don't think he can take it. People saying that Ward "shuts out" Golovkin - **** outta here. I'm sure Golovkin would do better than Abraham. Thoughts?
If Golovkin can land Ward would be in trouble, no doubt about that. The question is, will Ward be allowed to use his 'crafty' stuff (spoil, hold and hit, headbutt etc) to deal with GGG? Cause I think he will win a close points decision if so.
i'm not sure Ward would've gotten out of that first round but he definitely would've folded after that right uppercut.
Ward likes to dictate the terms in his fights...no chance of doing this against Golovkin....Ward can run but he cant hide....only a matter of time before GGG would catch up with Him.!!!!
Landing clean on Ward's chin is probably the second hardest thing to do in boxing right now. It will take a fighter who is good at distance, can punch with power, and most importantly the skill to set up and land punches. That right hand GGG landed underneath Rubio's arm was class.
The biggest problem Ward would have is the way he likes to crouch down when turned to his side exposing the left side of his head only for the most part. Not really susceptible to the uppercut but to a chopping right hand.
Ward is a brilliant inside fighter and would smother Golovkins punches. I don't see GGG landing the amount of clean punches he's accustomed to on average fighters.
Who has Ward stopped recently other than weight-drained Glass Jawson? Like I said, I don't see Golovkin doing worse than Abraham - I think he would do a lot better actually.
