He would have dominated 2006-2012 and would have beat like 16 ranked opponents. Would you rank him above Larry Holmes?
***Larry Holmes dominated from 1979 until 1985 and beat like 17 ranked opponents. It was a weak era like this one and many of the opponents he beat were 15-0, 13-0, etc.
Yes, but I see Wlad getting knocked out in the next 2 years, but if does that then I have to give him his props, weak division or not.
I just have a hard time coming up with the oppenent thats going to do it, I have a strange feeling whoever does it will come out of left field. Maybe a Haye or a Briggs or something, I would laugh my ass off is it was Audley was able to do it.:yep
Haye's chin would probably be exposed by Wlad, and Briggs is terrible. I think Wlad will lose sooner or later, but I hope Steward does something like he did with Lennox Lewis and makes Wlad win fights until he's 36 or 37.
I agree, Hayes chin sucks, but his power doesnt, we have all seen it only takes one shot to put Wlad on his back or at least put him into panic attack mode. Briggs is not a complate fighter and his stamina is terrible, but he has probably the most early knockout power in the division, 60% of his 40 something wins came in the first round by knockout. Wlad can still be blitzed and hurt by an early barrage, if anyone could take Wlad out early it's Briggs, Wlad did have a fight setup with him in late 06, but Wlad backed out come contract time.
Many fans as well as many of the posters here all said that was bull**** when it was announced evn though I said Briggs was an early threat. Wlad took on a better, undefeated Brock who was fresh off a KO of the year vs. Lawrence. Twist it anyway you like but Briggs was not considered as serious a threat as Brock was based on Wlad percieved weak chin & that dramatic KO of Zuri.
But truth is Brock is not a threat to Wlad, Briggs is just because of his handspeed and power...he won't win a decision of course but no one will against Wlad the only way to beat him now is to blow him away...like Sanders did...and that is no easy task, Wlad learned his lesson the hard way and under Manny Steward has become a technical wrecking machine.
It would be very, very hard for Wlad to surpass Larry Holmes now that he has already been knocked out not once, not twice, but three times by journeymen/run-of-the-mill contenders while in or near his prime. Those eight more ranked opponents would probably need to be very good fighters, and he would have to beat them very convincingly.
