His performance against Marquez was brilliant, sure Marquez was fighting at a weight very much out of his comfort zone but Mayweather took all of Marquez's attributes away from him, we didn't see any of the blistering combinations Marquez showed against Manny and Floyd dominated every round.

i'll go with gatti and chavez. yes, the dominant win over the undefeated and fearsome corrales was great, but i'd still go with the gatti win where he basically displays almost if not all aspects of boxing, which gives us a hint that floyd is on a completely different level. hit me, but like luke0 said, corrales was a drained **** on that fight.

The chavez fight, where he shows that he could handle and overcome such tight situation and frequent adversity that chavez gives.

Believe it or not, G. Hernandez imo. His offense was incredible that night and he fought a very disciplined fight against another well-schooled fighter really utilizing speed & timing against Hernandez. That was Floyd's first shot at a title and he did well against a solid pro who was on a short reign. Other mentions are N'Dou, Hatton, Chavez(01), Manfredy, Judah, and Mosley. I appreciated what he did to Corrales but that wasn't the Corrales I usually would see, he was a zombie against Floyd I admit as a Floyd fan.

it was merely because of floyd's style. the moment marquez meets a fighter that fights in a distance and a master of using space in a fight, most of his attributes or 'blistering combos' you said would be gone. it was evident on some of his mid fights, as well as on his fight with chris john where he lost. his output was significantly reduced.

his combination and counter punching would only work on someone that are used on fighting head to head on the inside, like the raw version of pac, diaz and katsidis.

The making weight excuse simply does not work as he fought for years after... and he did his best work at that weight class. But he did have distractions/legal problems at that point.

He was also a dead man walking!" On his way to Jail with no bail" for beating up his 110lb pregnant wife. The only reason Jr took the fight he knew the guy would have been mentally ****ed. Best performance BS, best cherry pick maybe !

A lot of people forget how good Floyd looked against Manfredy. It's worth remembering because Manfredy was a good fighter who would remain in contention for a while after the two round white-wash.
