What has been the best heavyweight fight since 2010?

Ironically, on some level it was Fury's lack of condition that made #3 more interesting.

#2 was a bit of a one-sided blowout - with Fury's poor condition in 3 it left doubt that he could do it with that handicap (despite arguably having done so already in #1) and left a greater potential for the upset... And moments of suspense when it looked like things could've turned - and Wilder did show good heart.

In a way, though, this is why I picked AJ-Wlad... Because in a similar sense, the declined favourite (who in his peak condition would've won easily) came up against a fighter who showed good heart - only in that fight, that heart counted for something and carried the underdog through to a great win.

AJ-Wlad answered more interesting questions, it was a less sloppy fight all told and just edges this, for me.

Fury-Wilder III was best. Joshua-Klitschko next best.

 

I'm thinking Aj v. Wladimir, that fight was the best heavyweight bout in a while, also considering the stakes. I won't argue with Wilder v. Fury 3, I had a hard time deciding between the 2. Awesome fights with high drama, both guys hitting the deck and getting up and a ton of championship heart shown in both fights.

 

I can see from the voting results that this vote is a complete failure.
It took a vote to be Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder 3 Vs. Anthony Joshua vs Wladimir Klitschko.
93-94 percent of voters voted for these two fights.

 

Any fight where AJ, Whyte or Wilder lose by stoppage is an instant classic and hard to split.

Unfortunately we haven't yet got to see AJ KO'd properly in the pros, but I'm confident we'll get that gift eventually. He can't hide behind 'tune-ups', forty-year-olds and low-power opponents forever. Then again, he actually can probably. He's the most protected fighter ever seen, a HW 'champion' who lost on points to one guy then went on a desperate rebuild longer than Fury's comeback after retirement and 400lbs. If he ever does fight Wilder, Wilder will be around 39 years old, yet another opponent aged to perfection.

 

Yeah the Fury Wilder 2 fight is the most exciting, pure classic champion grabbing the belt off champion moment we’ve seen in that time period. The way Fury approached the fight was jaw dropping and Wilder did score a knockdown. No one believed Fury would even attempt what he did let alone pull it off. Given that we had already seen what motivated Fury did vs motivated Wilder in 2. and that 3 was forced in the courts, 3 was a totally unnecessary fight and no wonder Fury came in sloppier. He still did the business but the fight was not as high level and that is that.
