I don't know what his problem is. He fought a great fight. He got that rare rising of stock in a loss. Surely he doesn't think got robbed, and this is some sort of protest...:-(

The guy just put in a great effort and was slapped in the face by the judges with the scoring. The fight was a lot closer than what was read, so rather than stick around and spout a bunch of nonsense that could paint you in a bad light, a la JuanMa, Cotto just seeked solice. It's really no big deal.

All that he has said since the fight was that he was happy with his peformance, his family was happy with his performance, and all he can do is accept it and move forward.

think about it, you work your ass of, probably the hardest you've ever done in three months. Being the heavier hitter, you hit floyd with some good shots win some exchanges, land a good number of jabs. Honestly i think cotto did more damage to floyd until the 12th round but floyd outpointed cotto by a large margin. It's reasonable to be thinking he won, he lost all that hard work for a loss is frustrating. The guy only had 2 losses, now its 3. I know guys who really become the biggest assholes once they lose a match. Cotto is a class act but doesnt mean he doesn't get sour from time to time

says he said all he needed too in the ring. props for that.

he also checked his team and said he's not protesting the outcome. so disregard ignorant post above.

he also went to the hospital after the fight.

    can't please everyone, it seems.

I think the judges got the decision right, to be honest.. I had it 117-110.. 2 Cotto rounds, 1 draw, 9 Mayweather rounds.. I read that he left because he felt the judges scorecards were harsh, not that he was disputing the fact he lost.

Heart to Cotto though, what a fantastic warrior.

Great effort by Cotto, but the scoring was spot on!

I just finished re-watching the fight (sound turned off) and only gave Cotto 2 rounds (3 & 6). Surprisingly Cotto lost round 8, the round many thought was his best. He flurried at the end of the round and landed 3 good jabs and a few to the body, but that didn't outshine the array of punches Floyd amassed during the the first half of the round.

I had it 117-111 on fight night and upon revision I see it 118-110.
