The Slugger Jerry Forrest Would have been too much too soon I'm afraid. " oh dear, oh dear, Something went terrible wrong, Down goes Gassiev!!! "
He's still be slow. Actually, even slower. Usyk looked like a gazelle next to him. His hand and foot speed (or lack thereof) will only get worse. He'll still retain his power, but agile boxers will beat him every time.
He’s fast enough to catch, hurt an demolish anyone not named Usyk. At heavy I’m not sure yet, but he could possibly walk down Wilder
In theory, that sounds somewhat logical. There's almost no chance that it will transpire in such a way, though. Everybody peaks at different times and 5 years is a very long time in boxing. He's obviously a good boxer and could be involved in some great bouts - but the division would have really gone backwards in a big way if Murat Gassiev was the man of the heavyweight division in 5 years. Frightening.
You’re comparing him to Usyk who is one of the fastest cruiserweights in the world and will be the fastest heavyweight when it comes to hand speed and footwork. Gassiev will be faster than the 18 stoners like Whyte for example
True. Some are early bloomers and some are late bloomers. Could well be that Gassiev peaked early and wont reach those heights again. Lets say he doesnt, 5 years is a long time for development, there’s things he could improve, his jab for example was non existant 2 years back. The problem is who is coming through that’s any good compared to him? Hrgovic - 28, stiff, has fought no one Ajagba - 26, already dropped by a journeyman Dychko - 30, fought twice in 2019 Makhmudov - 31, fought no one, no chin test Yoka - 28, possibly chinny, decent Sirenko - 25, havent seen enough of him Dubois - 22, good but fought no one Then compare that to 26 yr old Gassiev who was a unified cruiserweight champion at 24 in the most stacked time in its history. Only loss to possibly the best ever cruiserweight. 6’3 unit with a style that would suit heavyweight to a tee. I’m not necessarily saying he will be the next dominant heavyweight but he’s world champion material in my opinion
Stacked cruiserweight division is an oxymoron. It has never, and will never be "stacked". It's a stepping stone
Yeah. Your argument was that because they are competitive against one another they must be good. My argument was they are a bunch of guys who would have had no choice but sink or swim if the cruiserweights limited was at 190 where it should be therfore guys like usyk and Gassiev wouldn't have been there in the first place
Team Gassiev is smart and letting the big hitters @ heavy batter each other senseless that way they can tiptoe & snatch a belt without being exposed.
