Don't know why everyone is getting so worked up, they will be fighting again in September!! Does seem strange how floyd usually loves all the city tours and cameras on every other fight but not much for this one......worried is he???

The logical thought process would lead you to; "focused is he???"

All the city tours and press events are used to boost revenue. For this fight, anyone who would order the fight will order the fight. There is no one on Earth who is realistically "on the fence" about it.

    2006?

When Pac was at 130 and Floyd was at 147?

    Please, do explain...

I think you mean the second half of 2009.

they probably cut costs by skimping on promotions. the fight sells itself.

Sky (who are showing the fight here in the UK and Ireland at a cost of £20, which is equivalent to around $30) are promoting it quite well. Lots of ads on TV and it's regularly mentioned on Sky Sports News, which is by far the biggest sports channel.
When Sky get the rights to an event, they promote the s--t out of it.

Here's the thing, this PPV is THE one to attract people who have NEVER watched boxing before. The 24/7 All Access shows do a wonderful job of letting us get to know the players, before they play the game. Example. My roommate doesn't mess with boxing at all, but when we watched the All Access for Canelo/Mayweather he much more intrigued by the fight and actually watched it with me.

The fight sells itself for common boxing and fight fans, but for people who only know Mayweather for being a jerk in the media, this type of TV feature is absolutely needed to get them to want to watch. Like said, 100 dollars is alot, so they need to do everything to present it before it happens. The buildup has to make the 100 dollars seems like it's worth it.

For people complaining about the cost, yes, it is overpriced. But that was up to the networks. You've got two networks splitting it, so it's almost double price.

As far as TMT promoting, I too believe they're doing a poor job, but bear in mind, even Pac's side (Koncz), said the fight sells itself. So this wasn't entirely one sides' decision.

Also, 24/7 or All Access, again, is botched due to two networks.

Wrong, best promotion at the moment is Top Rank.

I don't get this reasoning. They could spend $2 mil in promotion and break $400 mil. Seems like good ROI to me.At the moment it seems like they're spending 0, maybe so they can actually promote in the rematch, saving that ammunition.

This would probably have been the most interesting 24/7 face off in the history of face offs and 24/7s and I'm sure would have given the press plenty of materials to talk about, instead nothing. All of Floyds biggest fights were with GBP, if GBP and Top Rank were joint lead promoters, this would be a lot more hyped.

TMT's doing a ****py job of promoting this fight, but then again, the fight sells itself.

Floyd is a showtime fighter and 24/7 face off is produced by hbo.

This what happens when you have 2 networks involved

    Basically

When we get a ppv fight, we usually don't have 2 networks involved.

Tyson/lewis and floyd/manny are the only ones.
