    Are you forgetting the level of competition they are up against as well. They are up against THE best AM fighters in the world. Any of the brits against anything but top 16 opposition would look extremely impressive.

    It is just a case of two totally different sports, this is interesting and although part is sour grapes it does ring true.

    He makes some valid points Arnie, but as I mentioned in another thread seems one of (surprisingly) many who are not aware that the scoring system has changed from the last Olympics.

    You question how much amateur boxing some people watch as this system was in place at the last European Championship, World Championship and European Olympic qualifiers. Although I think there's a reason that many who are criticising the amateur system are those who still think the 3 judges within 2 seconds scoring is still in place, these people don't watch a lot of amateur International boxing probably because they don't like it......which I suppose is fair enough.
