There's only one thing that would tempt him back. Right now he is contented with his lot and believes his legacy is good enough and will improve with time. The biggest win in his mind was Kessler who himslef needs to kick on to frank the form for Calzaghe. But if Froch or anyone else were to come along and beat Kessler within the next 12 months or so then there's no doubt Calzaghe's 'contented' status would slide. Particularly if Froch could beat Kessler as there's no doubt he would then be rubbishing Calzaghe's favourite win all over the UK press right under Calzaghe's nose. At the moment tough Kessler seems to be as retired as Joe!

 

He needs to grown a pair of balls or Bob Foster needs to come out of retirement.

Calzaghe's age made him think, too many fighters fight way past their prime. If Calzaghe goes broke he might come back, but not likely.

 

Maybe if Taylor schools Froch, Joe may come back to fight Taylor just to **** Froch off.

I think the way he retired, quietly, not really making a buzz around it is the guarantee he won't come back. Mayweather announced his retirement on a huge press conference, acting like a crybaby, which was a guarantee for me it's a calculated move, he's just taking a break.

With that said, other than his recent injuries, Joe never looked shot, or even over the hill. But thankfully he walked away before that could happen, and Kessler, Pavlik-beater Hopkins and overweight Tito-beater Roy is a nice way to walk away. What can Froch or Dawson bring to the table Calzaghe hasn't done yet? Another alphabet title?
