In my opinion, with the exception of up and coming fighters I feel that at the top level of the sport there have been so many visibile mismatches which is not seen as mismatches by casual armchair fans but true boxing Scholars of the game will be able to spot a mismatch a mile off.

What are some of the notable mismatches which has made one guy look great because of the other guy either being shot worn, past his best, not in the same Class or for whatever reason you can feel to call the fight a mismatch.

What mismatches have you noticed between 2005 and 2008 ?

i thought calzaghe against jones was a total mismatch.i didn't think it would be before it but i think it was painful to watch at times and i wanted joe to win as well.

i also think the rjj tito fight was also a mismatch due to the weight differences when they were in their prime. roy was letting tito whale on his torso and then laughed at him lol.

RJJ vs Tito is a megafight mismatch that comes to mind

    Roy was

    Bigger
    Faster
    Stronger
    More Powerful
    The weight suited him more

A guy whos best weight was 147/154, against a guy who won a belt at heavyweight, And tito STILL won like 3 or 4 of the first rounds.... lol...

I agree on both, especially the Jones vs Tito fight. This fight is an example of the majority of jones career, fighting fighters where he was able to showcase his talent but when he finally had to fight he got found out by Tarver because Tarver saw past his bull****.

With regards to Roy vs Calzaghe again I agree, most who follow boxing would have easily have picked this as a total mismatch and the Jones vs Tarver 3rd fight was the blue print on how to beat Roy. Roy was a 4 round fighter on the night

    I agree,

another fight to make one fighter look like God and the other like a punk lol

No point to those fights at all, I think undercards are getting worse aswell and the Oscar vs PAc undercard was full of mismatches. Some may not agree but id rather see an evenly matched fight rather than a 1 round blowout which hasn't taught the winning fighter anything.

I saw that fight, I didn't know too much about Haussler but I took one look at him and thought that this guy doesn't really look like he can bring it and when I saw Kessler Jabbing his face off I knew it was a foregone conclusion, total mismatch.

Definite Mismatch, even before the fight started I put $1000 on Roy Jones to win. It was easy to predict the outcome because Tito is not exactly an elusive target and Roy knew this and it was a bit of a joke really just to make Roy look great, I still liked the bodyshots Tito was giving Roy but we all knew the outcome, especially a true scholar of the game. Total Mismatch, a glorified sparring session.

    Judah vs Martel lol...

I need to watch this fight...I havent seen it as yet

    Judah vs Rivera..
I need to watch this one too

    Mayweather vs Sharmba
    100% Mismatch lol

    Mayweather vs Gatti
This has to be the worst mismatch I have ever seen because look how many big shots Gatti had taken in previous fights before this one and when I saw the Floyd interview the HBO head to head one where Floyd was dissing Gatti live over Satellite he called Gatti a C Class Fighter so if he knew this it explains the mentality of the fighter saying it. He said the same thing about Corrales too, he said this fighter is not on my level. It just epitomises the mindset of alot of these so called great fighters. I never want to see a mismatch like that again.

    Pavlik vs Rubio
Pavlik will stop Rubio, Cant even see Rubio Causing Pavlik any trouble, thats like Pavlik fighting his Dad LOL

    JC vs Manfredo
Mismatch of the Century, fight was pointless.

Kessler vs almost every opponent he fights lol
    LOL

    Miranda vs Banks
Definetly, and it showed lol when he went flying through the ropes, I got to say though, Banks girlfriend is fit, I saw her on the contender, she's a hottie.

    Darchinyan vs Burgos
    I agree...

    Wlad vs Austin
I saw this but need to watch it again to refresh my memory

    Cotto vs Gomez
This fight did not make any sense whatsoever. Total Mismatch
