As much as some of the brits annoy me, and I know they would come out in full force after a Haye win proclaiming his ATG status, I really want to see Haye win, we need exciting fighters like him at HW. That being said, he needs to not get hit flush to win, and punch Vitali more than Vitali punches him
That is why Haye is going to lose. If he is within range to Vitali to punch him, then that means that Vitali can punch him back. Which means Haye is ****ed. Because Vitali punches like a mother****er and tends to be brutally accurate. The fight is gonna end with Haye on the canvas.
Speed is the key. Vitali will be about 38 when this fight comes round, and will have only 8 rounds of pretty simple boxing under his belt in the last 4.5 years. This'll also be the first young, in-shape opponent for Vitali since...hmm...probably Timo Hoffman in Nov 2000, and while Haye isn't as durable he is a lot quicker. Haye has to make the most of his speed. I don't actually expect him to go in there looking for a knockout, I think he'll be planning the whole 12 rounds and so he'll need to have his gameplan absolutely dead on and train like a workhorse to make sure his stamina holds up. Watching stuff like Spinks-Holmes would be useful too.
He will have to keep circling Vitali, stop him from planting his feet, lots of angles, plenty of head movement and none of that wild brawling he likes to do.
