I was a critic of Wilder for a long time but the Ortiz fight proved him to be as credible as Joshua and it's unrealistic to believe Wilder is worried about facing Dillian Whyte.

Eddie Hearn is using Whyte in an attempt to maximize his own profits. He knows Wilder and Fury potentially are very big risk fights, that's why he wants to try to make money of them and get his claws in via Whyte.

Hearn's mistake might turn out to be this Parker fight.

Yes, but who has AJ beat ?

Takam and Martin and Breazeale were borderline top 10, probably somewhere around #9 to #15 or so on a reasonable rankings.
Wladimir Klitschko wasn't prime by any stretch.
So it's not like AJ has fulfilled the criteria either.

Thank u. The dumbasses make fun of and exaggerate ortiz's age but ignore the fact wladmir was washed up, inactive, coming off a loss, and 3 years older than ortiz...and hes joshuas best win by far!

It was pretty much the consensus that WK was in better shape and far more motivated against AJ than he had been for some years. He came in lighter and leaner than he had for a long time and showed some real ring smarts against AJ and a lot more movement than I can remember seeing in ages.

On Ortiz's age, many fellow pros and people in the game have stated that Ortiz is way older than his 'official' given age. Also I don't recall Ortiz dominating the heavyweight division for over a decade as WK did. Also the loss to Fury was at a time when WK's wife was going through such bad post natal depression she was on virtual suicide watch, hardly ideal preparation for a title defence.

Hearn also feels Wladimir Klitschko was “shot to pieces” when Fury stunned the boxing world by taking the Ukrainian's heavyweight crowns.

Doesnt matter how in shape or motivated a 41 year old man is. It doesnt change the FACT he was a 41 year old man, coming off a near 2 year layoff, a loss, and his body was breaking down from over a decade of amateur+professional fights and being KOed multippe times. Nothing you say will change these FACTS.

Ortiz was 3 years younger and undefeated with a stellar amateur background.

Ortiz didnt get the chance to "dominate for a decade" because 1) he started late as a pro (he was in the Cuban program like Rigondoux), and 2) cowards like Joshua kept ducking him. Care to address how Hearn paid him step aside money then blatantly avoided him?

Exactly, you cant talk about ortiz's age without talking about wladmirs. Wladmir putting up such a good fight against AJ at that old age shows AJ is either mediocre or hes still green. Its no wonder hes not confident about facing wilder.

If he beats Duhaupas he'll be mandatory though, so you're arguing a completely moot point.
