I didn't quite catch it but he said that she was afraid for his health or something referring to the nasty KO, right?

He mentioned Roy 3 times in the post fight interview, it's clear that he still has a serious case of inferiority complex regarding Roy Jones. I mean come on Bernard, you had the chance to beat his ass a year ago but you were more interested in whining about illegal punches than fighting. Just let it go man.

I wonder if his daughter was more scared by Roy getting knocked out, or by her dad viciously beating off under a blanket while replaying the knockout sequence over and over.

I actually think he was just giving her a shoutout and said the comment as briefly and respectfully as possible. "She got a little scared from the Roy Jones fight" instead of :

"After watching Roy Jones get knocked out cold" or "after seeing Roy Jones get stopped AGAIN" or "After seeing what other older men can't do".

That's exactly what I meant. It's too bad Hopkins is stuck in the past, even the rematch didn't help, he's still in the shadow of Roy in his own mind.

I actually think he likes and respects Jones a lot and was sending a shout out to him, he also mentioned how he was really hurt by a jones hook back in the day in the same interview. Roy actually put on a great boxing performance and showed alot of heart against Lebedev until the ending, Hopkins recognises it and feels like they'll always be linked. Hopkins is a boxing historian and he knows how Jones will be thought of twenty years from now.
