I think he would. He was smaller than todays heavies but still a genuine heavyweight. his combinations of speed and power would definately be too much for likes of Valuev, I see Ali coming in out out of range getting shots off to the body and head to get a decision. I think he stops wlad, wlad has had the beneit of being technicaly superior to most if not all his challengers and even then he has come unstuck against a few. He doesnt like quick punchers (and ali was puncher!!), I see Ali stopping him in 8. As for Vitali, he is more awkward than Wlad and has a better chin, so I see a 12 round fight going the distance, but VK isnt that quick and has had defence troubles himself, when his fighting a fella thatcan punch back that is. Look at the Sanders fight, he was def hurt and def troubled by the quick hands of Fat Corrie. I see Ali winning a UD. Ali style, imo olds up very well in h2h arguments.
What if a young Ali was breaking into the current Boxing scene? Then I would like to promote him! Nah all jokes aside, he would just be too fast for either klitschko and too skilled for haye.
He would be champion soon enough, no doubt about it. That's if the Klits actually choose to fight him.
too slow - no heavy today has a chance against a quick moving ali. speed is the answer. power means **** all. liston, foreman, shavers were all owned. actually ali was pretty shot against shavers. peak ali woulda killed him within 5 rounds.
He'd have to take his time moving up in class. Ali c1964 would be brutalized by the Klits. 1967 Ali would, of course, own them. If he could get under 200lb he'd probably be better off cleaning out the cruiserweights before moving up.
If he could psyche out Foreman and wear him down to a stoppage, he was the same to the mentally flaky Wladimir, much as I defend Wlad from time to time.
