As it is, he has no head movement, his punches are wide and sloppy, and he doesn't cut off the ring well.

Being a shorter guy, if he worked with Rooney or Atlas on bobbing and weaving, throwing sharper punches in bunches and cut off the ring better, he could still make a splash at 168. Or is it too late?

He should go to someone like Roach

I don't see how going with Rooney or Atlas really helps. I mean yeah, Atlas worked with Tyson as an amateur along with Cus, and Rooney's best days coincided with Tyson's best pro days, but it helps a trainer when you have a phenomenal talent to work with like Mike.

It's not like either of these guys have this proven track record with this type of style.

Roach would be best for him.

He needs to go back down to 160 also.

Abraham's last two performances can't be blamed, at least not wholly, on his skill set or lack thereof. It's not lack of skill or coaching that caused him to stand in the ring round after round and take shots as if he were a heavy bag in the gym. While both Dirrell and Froch fought smart fights, Abraham handed both of the fights to those guys on a sliver platter by essentially doing nothing or doing much to little, much to late.

I believe Abraham's problems stem from the head. There have been a lot of rumors and press lately citing Abraham's lack of focus in training and a few articles that state he has a lot of other commitments and distractions in his life that are keeping him from focusing the way he once did.

I don't know that a new coach would help Abraham again because its obvious the problem isn't his boxing ability or some missing skill set. Not long ago Abraham, though limited in skill, was very effective with what little he knew how to do. In the past he was faster, more aggressive, and outboxed some decent boxers. Now it seems he is only able to walk forward and absorb punches and has no desire to do much of anything else.

For those old enough to remember, think post prison Tyson. He and this new Abraham have a lot in common in terms of their passion for fighting and their focus on the sport, not to mention fighting style.

He is like an NFl team so I say Dick Vermil. He is either on offense or defense like two seperate teams. He has no counter punching = special teams. He completely stops to defend. He has good skill sets at both but needs a trainer that can mesh the two with counterpunching and his current trainer has no reign on him to motivate him whatsoever.
he needs a change and anything will suit him better I rekon.

Does he really need a trainer who's going to be crying between every round?
