What if AJ and Wlad rematched in 2018 or 2019?

    AJ vs Klitschko was a closer fight than the reputation it's gained for AJ since it occurred. In hindsight had they decided to go ahead with the rematch was it a guarantee that AJ would have won again?

    Wlad should have won on the night, he had the opportunity but didn't take it. Credit to AJ for pulling something out of the bag when he needed it. A rematch would have been 50/50 imo.

    That showed us a lot actually;

    How much he struggled with a much past it, washed up ,41 year old Wlad.

    That much past it 41 year old was still among the very best active heavyweights at the time. AJ will never be as great as Wlad was.

    Certainly true. Unfortunately, Wlad had been too-thoroughly conditioned by Steward and Banks by that fight to have a go and try to finish the wounded AJ. Being forced into a phonebooth with a much fresher Joshua in the later rounds was never going to work out for him at aged 41.
